Kayuh is one of the many huskies that we rescued from a hoarding situation. They were living in filth and had to fight for the small amounts of food that were thrown to them. The dogs have had little or no social engagement with humans and know nothing about a routine, living in a house or walking on lead. They all need patient experienced owners who are ready for sleepless nights, chewing and escapism.
Kayuh is a gentle, slightly nervous boy who readily accepts pats and cuddles. Kayuh walks well on loose lead and ignores other dogs and cars when she gets going. He is hesitant at first. He likes to walk in the company of one of his mates. Walkers say: "While Kayuh refused to walk he would go for a short distance in the shade and in the grass. Good boy – will train well with consistent handler. Responded to some limited commands. Loved treats”, “Really friendly towards humans” “Will sit for treats when held in front of him. Loves pats and cuddles, didn’t want to walk far” Kayuh like all huskies has an undercoat that sheds seasonally and needs lots of brushing. His coat is particularly poor. He weighed 10.5kg when he came in and is still underweight.
