Muffin was a dog who came from the pound needing urgent medical attention. He is such a sweet mannered gentle dog. We expected he would need the typical facial fold surgery that Sharpei's need to enable him to see better and get rid of the infection in his eyes. Sadly, when examined by our vets we were told he no longer had globes in his eyes. The bilateral entropion has resulted in chronic eye damage and collapse of both eyes. It is likely he suffered from chronic ulcers related to entropion leading to the rupture and collapse of both globes. He has been in a lot of pain for a long time. The kindest thing we can do is to remove both eyes so he no longer has pain and infections. Muffin walks well on loose lead, ignoring other dogs and does cope, being around dogs in a shelter environment, however a quiet home would suit him much better. He is easy to bath and pick up. Muffin enjoys a cuddle and is quite affectionate. Walkers say "very friendly relaxed guy!". Muffin has a short coat typical of the breed and he weighs 20.7kg.
