I got quite some battle scars on my soul - But I have changed my mind, humans and other dogs are actually quite alright!
Fox is one of our shyer huskies who is more comfortable around smaller dogs. He needs a very patient owner willing to meet him a few times to build a relationship. Fox is scared to walk and is nervous of dogs and cars but is becoming more accepting of treats. Fox is getting training on confidence building ATM and practicing calm behaviour at the front of the shelter. Walkers say: A little timid but got going and walked well”, “Seemed to get tired. Not too responsive to treats” “Great dog!”, “Very apprehensive, but improved towards the end. Beautiful boy”. “Sat to side of carpark. Very frightened by cars reversing. Headed into scrub for cover. Took treats from hand happily”
Fox like all huskies has an undercoat that sheds seasonally and needs lots of brushing. He weighs 13.8kg and is still underweight.
Fox is one of the many huskies that we rescued from a hoarding situation. They were living in filth and had to fight for the small amounts of food that were thrown to them. The dogs have had little or no social engagement with humans and knew nothing about a routine, living in a house or walking on lead. They all need patient experienced owners.
