Daisy is looking for an experienced owner living in a quiet calm environment who has had a difficult dog before. She is extremely affectionate, particularly in the mornings where she nuzzles you for attention, belly rubs and cuddles. She is a very gentle, slow-moving dog and very social with smaller dogs and even rabbits. She can be nervous of strangers and visitors.
She was apparently purchased by a family from a drug dealer home at 9 weeks of age where she was chained and starved. There were constant strangers coming and going so loud noises and sudden movement scare her. Her litter mates were sold at 4 weeks of age and she was the runt. She was fed on dry Weetbix and did not know how to eat properly.
Daisy did not like anything around her neck including a collar. She also has a sensitive rear end from apparently being kicked in the rear and in the head. Daisy used to resource guard her bed, but this is becoming a thing of the past.
Daisy has undergone some positive training with previous owners using touch treat methods and also with a clicker. She is very obedient to commands and quick to learn a new routine. She eats only soft foods as she has some strictures of the oesophagus. She has had a couple of surgeries to have this dilated as best possible. She is a bit on the tubby side but being a sedentary girl losing weight has been a bit challenging. She has also had 2 knee replacements at 2 years of age!
Daisy is in good health now but appears to have Diabetes Insipidus (nothing to do with sugar diabetes which is Diabetes Mellitus) and is simply managed with tablets. This stops the constant drinking and urination.
She has a medium coat which needs regular brushing and weighs 20.5kg.
