Murphy is a sweet older boy who is looking for quiet retirement life as the only dog in the household. We soon learned that Murphy is very hard of hearing and his vision is not the greatest. Apart from that and a bit of arthritis, he is doing really well. He is an update from his foster carer: He is very playful, loves “chasing” a bouncing ball and can actually head it back to me if I throw it in the right place (see video). When retrieving a ball, he drops it back at my feet to throw again. He is very active for a 14 year old, and we are preventing him from over-exerting himself. He is obedient but of course we have to use sign language. If we put our finger on the floor he will immediately lie down with his nose at the finger. He is house-trained. He is very friendly and gentle with people. He is very happy to be brushed and have his ears cleaned. He walks and trots quite well, but he has trouble getting up off slippery floors. " Murphy is easy to wash and pat. He just needs to understand what you are doing and slow hand movements are essential. He has a fluffy coat, though it is sparce on his back from previous flea infestations. He weighs 17.6kg.
