Little Evie came from the pound in a bad way. She didn't want to be touched much, and we soon learnt from our vets she had a pyometra (infected uterus) and was in a lot of pain. Our vets stabilized her and operated. The pyometra had ruptured seeping infection into the abdomen resulting in septicemia. She is on fluids, lots of antibiotics and we are keeping our paws crossed. Each day she is looking a little brighter. The picture above is 24 hours post-surgery and her eyes are looking brighter but she still has a long way to go. She will remain at the clinic for at least another week. She has a scruffy coat and weighs 5.2kg.
